Smith creek, md

We arrived back in Smith Creek yesterday for a last visit this time around and a hard goodbye with friends from Annapolis. We spent a rainy day making soft shackles, splicing, playing with knots, chatting, eating, and having a nice time all around.

Now, it is a crisp sunny morning that makes no attempt to hide the arrival of Fall.

Smith creek is quite beautiful with very few houses. There are at least half a dozen snug coves and until yesterday afternoon nary a boat in sight. Then a sailboat from NH anchored a couple hundred feet away. I guess we had picked the best spot.

St. Mary’s was neat. We had been there many times for the gov cup race, but had never visited the history museum. That was spectacular.

Today we move on to Virginia, likely Gwynn Island.
