Christmas Friends

We are back at Christmas Cove after a night in Charlotte Amalie to pick up Ted and Sarah and are eating guava tarts, listening to Christmas music and generally enjoying the scenery.

The Christmas winds are blowing.  The harbor in Charlotte Amalie was quite windy with a stretch in the afternoon with winds at 25 – 30 and higher gusts.  We had picked a spot with only two boats upwind in part so we didn’t have to worry as much about other boats dragging down into us.   Roxy (our anchor) held us firmly.  We haven’t yet been sorry to have a really big anchor and Sunday in Charlotte Amalie was certainly no exception.

Yesterday was a full day with a relatively long snorkel and swim.

Hannes set a new personal best for free diving by hitting the bottom at 24 ft.  The sunsets here are spectacular.  The kids have to take turns on their favorite perch.

Today, we’re headed back to St. John and looking forward to our traditional fondue on Christmas eve.  And, of course, a few more snorkel trips.  A perfect combination.  Merry Christmas to you all.

Thrilled I found your blog. Looks lovely there. My wife and I will be there on the third of Jan. This reading is helping to ease the pain of not being there sooner. If you don’t mind I’ll just lurk around reading your adventure. We’ve chartered out of HavredGrace but never made it this far south.

    Have a wonderful trip.
