Gilligan’s Island/Cana Gorda

On the way from Caja de Muertos to La Parguera we stopped for one night at Gilligan’s Island.  These are a couple of mangrove cays that create a small bay just east of Guanica (the site where American’s landed during the Spanish American war).  The island was really pretty and since we went at the end of a weekday, it wasn’t overflowing with other folks.  There were a couple of channels through the cays that had quite a current running into the bay.  We had fun swimming in place and then poking into the mangroves to see the juvenile barracudas.
