The winds offshore have been out of the north for most of the week, so we’ve stuck to Wilmington and haven’t had any shortage of things to keep us busy. We picked strawberries. Twice. And ate strawberry sorbet, strawberry jelly, strawberry buckle, and more raw strawberries than we remember.
We went to Topsail beach to dig, swim, run, and hunt for fossil sharks teeth. We only found a few teeth, but had the most fun hunting for coquina clams. They put on a nice show trying to bury themselves again.
Spring fever hit us and we started a boat garden. Now that we have mint and basil, we’ll look like true cruisers.
And, finally, we’ve devised a few color combinations of our own for a few cedar plugs. We’re ready for the stream. Here tuna, tuna, tuna.
The wind should veer tonight so we’ll aim for the 1400 bridge opening bound for New York.
