Lobsters here, Lobsters there

We had a wonderful visit in Belfast with our friends Tig and Serena and family (tigandserena.com).  It was fun to catch up again after a year and 6,000nm.  The kids had fun swimming, playing, reading, and burning things.  We all had fun eating stir-fried lobster with scallions and garlic.

After we left Belfast, we headed to Rockland and met up with SV Blue Raven and ate  … more lobsters.  This time in classic Maine fog and rain.

Today (Thurday) the sun is shining, but we spent two soggy Maine summer day poking around Rockland. The two families managed only 6 reprimands in the Farnsworth museum (not very kid friendly).  We’ve eaten pizza (twice), ice cream (thrice) and watched the really cool glass bead and button blowing. This morning, the day began foggy (we couldn’t see the Tayana 47 in the picture below), but the fog quickly retreated in a dramatic fashion.  Here’s the view as the retreat was wrapping up.

The temperature inside the boat even made it to 75 today.  A scorcher. We’re headed east tomorrow aiming for Somes Sound in a few days.
